Terms of Service
Last updated: 23 June 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of PDFInvoiceAPI (the "Service"), operated by Matfy ("we", "us"), a business registered in the Netherlands. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
PDFInvoiceAPI is a developer API that converts HTML or templates plus data into PDF documents. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
2. Accounts & eligibility
You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. You are responsible for the information in your account, for keeping your credentials and API keys secure, and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support@pdfinvoiceapi.comof any unauthorised use.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- break the law or infringe anyone's rights, including intellectual property;
- generate fraudulent, deceptive, or unlawful documents;
- render malware, phishing content, or material that is abusive, hateful, or sexually exploitative;
- attempt to breach, overload, reverse-engineer, or circumvent the Service, its rate limits, or its security;
- resell or expose the raw API in a way that competes with the Service.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.
4. Plans, credits & billing
Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment processor, Stripe. Prices are shown exclusive of VAT; applicable tax is added at checkout. Each plan includes a monthly allowance of render credits; one successful render consumes one credit. Trials receive a one-time credit grant and require no card. By subscribing you authorise recurring charges until you cancel. Refunds and cancellation are governed by ourRefunds & Cancellation Policy.
5. Your content
You retain all rights to the HTML, data, and documents you send and generate ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited licence to process Your Content solely to provide the Service. We do not store rendered PDFs — they are streamed back to you and discarded, unless you explicitly enable optional document hosting. You are responsible for Your Content and for having the right to use it.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and documentation, is owned by Matfy and protected by law. These Terms grant you no rights to our trademarks or branding.
7. Availability & changes
We work to keep the Service available but provide it on an "as is" and "as available" basis without an uptime guarantee unless agreed separately in writing. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service, and will give reasonable notice of material adverse changes where practical.
8. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You are responsible for reviewing generated documents before relying on them.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim arising out of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three (3) months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including your mandatory consumer rights).
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Matfy against claims arising from Your Content or your breach of these Terms or applicable law.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these Terms. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (including 5–10) survive.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the revised version with a new date and, for material changes, give reasonable notice. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, and disputes are subject to the competent courts of the Netherlands, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence.
